This book is valuable because it portrays what raw passion feels like to her, and while that varies from person to person, Ernaux puts into writing thoughts that a lot of people are afraid to admit. The journey through the story also shows an evolution in many ways. I think lots of people will find at least something that will resonate with themselves in this book.

Four stars because I am not a fan of the translation. Read in original language if possible.
