i feel very neutral towards this book. there is definitely a place for many of the concepts presented and the discussion around the difficulty of being loving in a world which is so patriarchal and capitalistic was eye-opening at times. i definitely had moments where i was in agreement but for the vast majority of this book i just felt like it was generalised statements drawn from her own personal experiences and i felt no connection to them. additionally there was a gradual build up of this book into spiritualism, specifically the role of god in the author’s life, and i just could not find myself invested in those chapters as they came across as almost preachy.
