The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Black Dossier by Alan Moore

5.0

4 1/2 stars. Reading this book is quite a journey, mentally and physically. Let me explain. Most of the contents of the actual Black Dossier are massive walls of texst full of minutiae about the League in its various forms throughout the years. It's easy to get bored and/or get sidetracked by the sudden stylistic changes that occur from facsimle to facsimile. The ending, which takes place in the Blazing World, requires the use of 3D glasses, for a good 10 pages, which left me positively dazed. Quite an experience, this book, despite its shameless absence of plot (OK, there is a plot, but it's not terribly important).
