So I read this novel as part of a literature course I'm taking at university. It is a true blessing to be permitted to read novels as part of studying! Makes me contemplate if I should swap direction of my current program but... who knows.
Either way this was a fun and easy read I enjoyed through and through. I sped through it and it gave me just what I was hoping for; a little happiness and joy. I like my romances. I usually tend to this need by watching movies, it hasn't really occurred to me that I can read books to fulfill it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the setting and the characters, and will be sure to read the sequels, but I wish the conflicts and obstacles in the way of Mac's happiness had posed a larger issue and been harder to overcome. But I guess I got what I expected - a little cookie with my afternoon tea.
