The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

5.0

The Hunger Games are the books that got me into reading all the way back in 2012, I then became obsessed with the series and ever since it’s been a special part of my life and always will be.

It was so fun to re read it and it’s just as great as I remember, the characters are flawed but likeable and now that I’m reading it as an adult I’m seeing some characters in a new light like Cato. They were all just kids put in an arena to fight to the death and none of them deserved to go through that, it such a sad but important story and I’m looking forward to re reading the rest.

The relationship between Peeta and Katniss will always be my favourite parts of the book, it was wonderful to see it evolve all over again and to see Katniss’s heart soften towards the boy with the bread.
