I am drenched in the world of the Night Circus, like I've been there, seen the wonders and magic of the circus, and met the people on the pages of this book just by reading it. The concept is fascinating, and how the magic works is left somewhat mysterious to the reader, which I love. You get caught up in the excitement of everything on the page and everything the characters do or feel.
That being said, there is so much going on in this book, so many perspectives and places this story takes us, that it got hard to keep track of what happens when, even if they're labeled. It gave me a bit of whiplash at some points.
Did I like most of the cast? Yes. Did I like Marco? ehhhh. He grows or whatever, but he felt powerful because he had to, which is valid, but kinda made me wonder why him? Why not someone else? And before anyone says love, I'm convinced that is not enough of a reason in the case of this novel, given there is another example of a challenge on the pages. Plus marco is a total fucking buffoon. He didn't have to be perfect, but that guy is an idiot, and I will be petty for that.
If you want to read something that you can lose yourself in, read this, or if you like the circus or revelry, you should also read this.
