Compelling prose, but not as much to chew on in my opinion (pun intended) as I had hoped. Felt contrived and a bit misogynistic at points.
I see no reason why the main character had to be as young as 16, I think the story -- a large part of which seems to be centered around themes of sexual empowerment -- only suffers for it.

Graphic: Grief, Cannibalism, Abandonment
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Body horror, Death, Gore, Misogyny, Sexual assault, Suicidal thoughts, Blood, Stalking, Suicide attempt, Murder
Minor: Alcoholism, Animal death, Excrement, Pregnancy, Alcohol
I don't think I'm not the target audience; wish it had more to do with queerness, since the premise seems to purposefully frame itself as a metaphor for being queer
