Princess Kevin
by Michaël Escoffier
Loved the illustrations by Roland Garrigue but was expecting more from the story. Because we've seen many kid books with this exact same theme of a young boy wanting to wear girl clothes and facing bullying because of that. Hope someone would have step up in the prince shoes. But mostly why Kevin wanted to be a princess in the first place?! To at least being able to start a discussion about it.
Finally I can see I struggle to read queer books when we have no presentation of the author/illustrator and/or a little text from them examining why they made this book. Usually knowing it's because the author is parent of a queer kid or its the queer kid themselves who contributed to the story, makes it way more sense. And helps to connect way more to the story.
