asiucci 's review for:
L'età fragile
by Donatella Di Pietrantonio
This is the first time I read a book by Donatella di Pietrantonio. I rarely pick up this kind of books, and it’s been a few months since I last read one written in my native language, so I didn’t have any big expectations. And thank god I didn’t because this book swept me off my feet. The story is great, and I loved the writing so much I couldn’t stop underlining sentences. The plot was inspired by true events that happened in Abruzzo many years ago. It is a sort of contraposition between what happened to Lucia’s daughter and what happened to her best friend. It is a story of resilience, it talks about survivors, and for some reason I really resonated with everything about this book. The only thing I didn’t enjoy is the ending, because i don’t particularly like open ones, and I felt it was a bit rushed, but i will be definitely picking up other books by this author.
