Even though this book was better than the last one, the first half was slow and kind of boring. However, the ending (which I was not spoiled of, mainly because I don’t read the Super Editions in order) got me hooked and made everything worth it. Tree was super interesting and one of the things that redeemed this book for me. He was unique and fun, at first seemed lazy and undedicated, but during the book he showed that he actually cared and had great skills. Also, Briarlight’s death scene was heartbreaking and I loved Jayfeather’s character development, despite many books have passed since he was a main character.

This wasn’t the best book in AVoS, but not the worst either. It was worth the time, even if it wasn’t fantastic.
