zjames 's review for:
Marvel 1602
by Neil Gaiman
This was pretty fun. Even as someone who only has a casual interest in Marvel, it was cool seeing what the Renaissance versions would be like. I particularly had fun with the characters whose identity wasn't immediately obvious in the story. It was great trying to figure them out before the big reveals.
The plot and dialogue are surprisingly intricate and clever, showing a lot of care for the story.
My main gripe is that Marvel 1602, as with much of Gaiman's work, is anticlimactic. The dude seems to not know how to end things.
