Laws of Physics: Motion by Penny Reid

I voluntarily read an early copy of this title.

I had no idea what to expect going into this series, as I have yet to read the Elements series, and this is a spin-off from that, I believe. Please note, this can be read without reading Elements, as this made complete sense to me, so reading Elements before this series is not a requirement.

I can't say that I really connected with any of the characters in this, and I absolutely hated some of them at the start (secondary characters). They did however, grow on me by the end of the book.

The premise of the story is a good one, even if slightly predictable at times. Twin swap to cover for the twin that is in trouble, should be easy right? Not necessarily, when these twins don't spend too much time together and have polar opposite personalities.

Mona covering for Lisa feels like its going to end all kinds of badly, and some things do happen in this book that are, yes, predictable, but also other things, were totally unexpected. I knew this was going to have a cliffhanger ending going in, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I feel that it's left open nicely for the second book to continue.

I want to learn more about these characters, even if I don't really connect with them, and there are definitely some past things between the twins that I want to discover the answers to.

Book 2 will be interesting...
