Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood
by Trevor Noah
What a great book. I've become a huge fan of Trevor Noah ever since getting back into watching The Daily Show, but TDS or not, this is a great book. His stories about what it was like for him growing up in South Africa as a kid from mixed parents are both touching, funny and enlightening. His perspective is really unique, and it made me think about a lot of things I never thought about before. Above all, this shows the man can write - some chapters pack quite the punch, and even more so because of the superb way they're structured. Definitely worth reading.
I have to say this year I'm reading quite a few books about topics I know very little about, and I'm really enjoying that. It made me fall in love with reading all over again.
