Redeeming Love
by Francine Rivers
I wanted to like it. I really did and I wish the author no harm. But this book while full of good intentions misses the mark badly. It does not represent the Hosea story nor does it represent how a godly man should love his wife. All of the self-doubt the Angel character has was barely addressed except to chide her for not trust people and not let her "husband" who married her in a half beaten drugged state with barely any consent and then tried to force "loving touch" up a child who has been raped and abused for years made me shiver in repulsion. That is not the healing path that I saw for the character. Do yourself a favor. Just read the book of Hosea in the Bible and skip this. It really misses the mark.
