as a lesbian, i can enjoy this is as a sappy, light-hearted romance read without internalizing the weird patriarchal and heterosexual vibes of this book. i understand the regency aspect, but there’s a difference between using a regency setting and leaning into misogynistic perspectives about women at this time, especially within the context of a romance novel. besides that, i love daphne and simon <3
