I feel like a lot of the plot could have been left out. Especially since a whole chunk of it seems to set up a sequel that does not exist and may never exist (the author declared it to be "done" in her notes). It was just another contrived way to keep the main characters apart. A lot of the "final" battle scenes were anticlimactic. Mainly, I assume to make room for meaningless plot points that...didn't matter.

I liked the characters, but there were so many perspectives that at times it dragged.
