Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window
by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, Chihiro Iwasaki
emotional
inspiring
reflective
medium-paced
I was so excited that this was a true life story! I was unaware that Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, someone who I’d seen on TV growing up, had had such a colourful childhood 🥹 I was aware that she had grown up during the war but was unaware of her attending Mr. Kobayashi’s incredible school ✨
This is more like a collection of very short stories, and so some of the time I didn’t feel as though I could connect to the characters because before I could try, they were whisked away! 😳 But it was still touching and you could feel Mr. Kobayashi’s love and passion for education 🥰
I’m giving this 3.5 out of 5 stars ✨ Thank you!
