The Shark Caller by Zillah Bethell

5.0

A bikpela hearted story, beautifully written

The Shark Caller is a beautiful book. A story of place and spirit, grief and acceptance. It was wonderful to read a story set in a place not often featured in literature, New Ireland in Papua New Guinea. Zillah Bethell writes effortlessly and conjures images of an amazing island, peopled by fascinating and well described characters, not the least, Blue Wing.
The Shark Caller moved me greatly.
As a father who has known the pain of losing 2 of my daughters and the confusion and emotional turmoil of childloss, this book touched me and by the incredible, affecting end, had reduced me to tears. This book will remain with my a long time, it had a bikpela affect on me and will do for oltaim. Wonderful.
