What to say about this novel. The writing and story were so engaging. I felt the writing was accessible. There were so many moments when Miranda July's main character had a thought or verbalized it and I had to reread the line about three times. I feel that this book has changed my view on menopause, womanhood, and middle age. I feel that I look some women in my life with softer eyes. Why don't we talk about this stuff??? One smaller part of the book that I keep thinking about is how the main character discusses feeling like she goes through her gritting her teeth until she's able to release. It made so much sense to me on a personal level. I could see myself coming back to this work in the future.
