A solid cosy kind of romance? I loved the small town vibes and the very unorthodox cowboy setting that I don't think I've really delved into before so that was an eye opener.
Did I *love* the couple? I loved the banter. The family chaos. BEAU. BEAU IS AFTER MY HEART. The romance between Summer and Rhett? Ehhh it was OK. I mean there were some real good butterflies in the stomach moments, bit of angst and the chemistry was pretty well developed. But yet again, a common occurrence is the romantic side getting lost within lust? And I just slowly dissipate because of that.
Also, you telling me my girl Summer - who was practically GROOMED and then preyed on as a minor and gaslighted for years by a PROFESSIONAL doctor who performed surgery on her - simply allowed him to get away with his behaviour after all them years? AFTER this douche MARRIED her sister and left her in the dust? And STILL continued to keep her in line, manipulating her? Summer literally kept silent? To protect her sister? Absolutely not. I cannot with that logic. She's not a child anymore and apparently passed law school. USE YOUR TALENTS TO JAIL THE MF. Who knows how many other victims he could potentially be stringing along? I think in the long run the betrayal would've hurt her family more, especially her sister Winter. As we kind of experienced actually.
Gah. I was so mad. And grateful for Rhett because he doesn't take bs. But I don't understand how we haven't explored the aftermath of the reveal? Winter exposes a revelation and then we're just left in the dark?
It's not perfect but the small town vibes and the Eaton family are wholesome and I really cannot wait until we get Beau's book because he truly captured my soul here.
