I had a difficult time rating this one - I enjoyed it, but it felt like clean up after book 5. Which is totally fine, but it just wasn't as captivating in my opinion because of that.
I loved the continued divide in Murderbot; it's struggle between its "humanity" and it's "robotics" and coming to terms with being something in between. This installment feels like it spent the most time on this divide, but I also found it the least engaging of the series thus far. I enjoyed it, honestly, and I'm devastated that I've caught up. I'm very eager for the next installment! This one just didn't feel as fast paced as the previous books and I felt there were more lulls.
I am delighted that we got to see more ofART's crew, with Iris being my favorite! . And despite the number of characters involved, they all feel distinct and individual!
Kevin Free is Murderbot to me. His narration took this series to a whole new level. This series has been a constant companion for the last two months and it has been such a fun and delightful journey. The Murderbot Diaries has firmly settled itself among my favorite works of fiction. I cannot wait for the future of this series 💙
