This book is so well-written, the characters and story grabs you. I did have one issue with the book, which is that, aside from a couple of remarks about the POC characters having a “tough time” racism essentially didn’t exist in this historical fiction. Characters got along just the same, which is a vast difference from the historical reports from black soldiers and nurses at that time.
