Born of Silence by Sherrilyn Kenyon

4.0

Just when you think Ms. Kenyon has written the most tortured male lead possible you pick up another of her books and realize she can go darker. I loved this book, although it was very intense at times and my heart ached for Darling and what he was forced to endure. About half way through I had had it with the female lead and wanted her to see her up comings for the way she was behaving. Like Darling it took me a while to forgive her for her behavior. In most of Kenyon's book the lead has already been damaged and survived the turmoil in his life. In this book, while most of Darling's life has been awful, we get to be there for the most severe torture that he must endure in his life, it will break your heart. Unlike others I was not bothered by the fact that Kenyon changed the character from Gay to straight, she worked it into his back story well and it just didn't bug me. Of course it may have to do with the fact that there had been some time between reading most of the other books in the series and this one. If I had been reading them all back to back maybe it would have bothered me more. Great book and I loved the ending.
