I wasn't expecting the sci-fi(ish)/paranormal aspect of this story which, to me, was more significant even than the suspense and thriller of being on the run. Unfortunately, it's the part I didn't enjoy.
Perhaps I would have enjoyed this more if I had realized that. I do like the two main characters (Anna (who isn't a completely reliable narrator) and her daughter Lena.
