A Good Happy Girl by Marissa Higgins

i read this book for my book club

if you like the concept of a sad messy lesbian with parental issues and copes with sex/relationships told in a non linear format almost to the point where its a stream of consciousness, if you like character driven stories (no plot just thoughts & vibes), if you like unreliable narrators who are not the easiest to like but you low key root for them to change, then id recommend "you exist too much" by zaina arafat. so basically if you like this novel but want more or if you liked the concept of this novel but not the execution. (you exist too much is not gross though so if that's an aspect of the story that you like then...)

idk how i feel about it ... i liked the writing it felt really immersive and i could feel all that the mc felt. there were times where the writing was extremely gross and i was not a fan of that. i didnt quite understand the kink dynamics in the story? there were a lot of mind games and i honestly could not tell you how much of it was real mind games and how much of it was the mc's imagination. and what exactly made the wives so special? i was interested in the mc's familial background and her complex relationship to each family member (although i wish i got more. i still feel like i dont know anything about her mother and her brother).
