Devlok with Devdutt Pattanaik by Devdutt Pattanaik

4.0

Finished this book with mixed experience. I have read many books on Hindu god/goddess before and so I was not surprised to read of stories this book says. But still it refreshes the knowledge and adds more to it. Many stories and new, many beliefs are explained with logical ends and many questions are answered. However one thing the book says repetitively is, we should not take mythological stories as it is said but should find it's lesson. At many places author has very nicely explained how religion and belief system are changing over the years with changing social structure and our lifestyle. I found questions regarding colors, food, stars every interesting and enlightening. Thanks to Devdutt for telling us about things people believe in different regions and letting us know about how versitile Hinduism is. This book is definitely a very good read for those who are seeking more knowledge of Hindu tradition and who's into mythology.
