Angie Thomas always writes the most vivid, realistic, and complex characters. There is so much to love about this book, but I think the mix of hard-hitting issues and rap/music ambition in here makes it really unique and irresistible. Would recommend to teens looking for issue-centered books that still have a sense of fun, with memorable characters.
