The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley

5.0

Hugely formative, epic in the best possible way, and an important counterbalance to the entire rest of the Arthurian canon. A subversive revision to the standard tale that almost makes you resent it, and view that as the revision and this as the finally unearthed true telling. Took me a long time to finish, and some passages are slower than others, but the overall experience was life changing.
