The Grandest Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
4.0

wayyyy better than the brothers hawthorne!!

i thought the multiple povs kept it fast paced but at the same time it was harder to stay focused and immersed.

i was most interested in lyra’s POV (mostly because i love grayson) but i was actually really interested in rohans! gigi’s fell a little flat (i just didn’t really care?) but i found her narration style fun to read.

grayson and lyra scenes had me kicking my feet. savannah and rohan made me a little uncomfortable at first but i grew to like them. idk he just gave me the ick at the beginning for some reason.

savannah is a little insane but like good for her.

i feel like there were a LOT of puzzles in this book. like almost too many. i didn’t really care about half of them. i get that’s the plot of the book but i was just like eh ok so they’re gonna do something with that sure.

i wish that the groups had gotten to interact more because sticking gigi with two random people made me like not care about what was happening at all.

i really liked the older characters and avery’s cameos.

insane cliffhanger. also why tf would gigi not tell ANYONE about the necklace?? girl is whipped and he doesn’t even like her
