The Dilemma
by B.A. Paris
1.5 stars.
I have enjoyed books by B.A. Paris in the past, but this one was not for me. Different from her previous works, this could be considered a family-drama. Unfortunately, the plot was weak and the characters were boring and uninspired. Whole sections were highly repetitive, unnecessarily re-presenting 'the dilemma'. I only finished (skimming the last chapters) because I hoped there would be a twisty payoff at the end. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
On the positive side, the author is an excellent writer and it was a very easy and quick read - could be a nice distraction for those that enjoy simple family-dramas. I look forward to the author's next book.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and B.A. Paris for my advanced copy to read and review.
