I am not normally one for books without a lot of action, but I think I am really starting to enjoy the psychological thriller genre. I thought Kyla was a great character, and I really enjoyed the way the intrigue and suspense built up over the course of the novel. I thought that the Slating system was unique, and the ending made me excited for the next book. The only thing I did not like was the lack of world building specifically of the Central Coalition. They mentioned a few things but I still had some questions. Why did they switch to an agrarian society, for instance. Otherwise, I thought this book was great.
