Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

Did not finish book. Stopped at 53%.
I really wanted to love this book but, after reading over half, I just didn’t want to pick it up again

There wasn’t anything really bad about the book that stopped me reading:
- the main character, Audrey Rose, is an independent woman
-there’s a slight feminist vibe (there were a couple of amazing quotes)
-the photos were a cool touch

However, I thought:
-the conversations were confusing, contradicting or repetitive
-the characters were frustrating
-situations were exaggerated
-some parts were quite gruesome even for me
-Audrey, even though she was supposed to be a strong feminist, was unfortunately very weak in some parts, suddenly the typical affluent lady at that time
-Audrey and Jonathan’s relationship was a disappointment, there was so much potential but they were only enemies for a very short time
-the feelings at the time towards the Whitechapel murders were only semi-accurate (from my own knowledge, so I may not be right, there was not a dramatic fear in the upper classes at the beginning of the murders because they thought they would not be affected)

Overall, there was so much potential in this book and I was so excited to read it, I may even come back to it sometime in the future, but I have no desire at the moment to pick up this book and see what happens
