I really love the very natural way her relationships develop... with monsters! Some of whom have never even experienced bodily intimacy or romance. The author makes it so believable. I love the succubus who's afraid to give away his heart. The tough guy who becomes her solid rock of a foundation. And there's a hint that there may be more to come... It almost feels a bit like enemies-to-lovers lite to me. There's hints of it, anyway, but nothing hateful. Overall this is mostly a light read, despite the action-packed nature of it. There are some gruesome deaths and grappling with killing later on, which just serves to make it more believable.
