lila = mary sue character, overpowered, all tell no show, has no elaborate history that makes me sympathize or even like her character
kell = felt indifferent with him, no discernible personality apart from feeling unwanted, extreme protective tendencies over rhy and weird chemistry with lila.
kind of saving grace is in the secondary characters which were rhy, alucard and holland.
would have preferred this fantastic world with holland as a main character because his story was more interesting and intriguing than the other two. the tragic backstory and utter mistreatment he endured from his previous captors and the main protangonist confirmed my belief that he deserves better than that self-proclaimed thief who spits on other women and basically screams “i’m not like other girls!”. yikes.
i really could not move pass the god-awful characterization of the only female main character. i had hints in the first book but i was hoping she would develop as a person. nope, just made her overpowered which was not at all deserving. cut out her character and this series would have been so much better.
