that last star is thrown in for a certain pickpocketer bc he made me giggle and kick my feet with only a few lines.
i did love Inan and Zélie's moments together when he wanted to be near her but was fighting it and also the dreamscape scenes 10/10. i did not like him flip flopping on whether to save magic - i don't know how he could possibly think his father would accept anything other than a total wipeout for all those connected to magic. i hope to see Amari and Tzain's relationship grow more in the next book. i love enemies to lovers and even enemies to lovers to enemies but i hope this doesn't turn back into lovers for Inan and Zélie- the back and forth all in one book was a lot. i did feel as though the end scene was rushed but im hoping we will dig deeper into the emotional impact of what happened in the next book.
