3.0
I feel like I enjoy Carmilla as a concept more than the story itself. It's worth reading to see where other vampire stories got their inspiration, and the sapphic love is nice to see. Sadly, the second half of the book is tainted by the intentions of the author.
Moderate: Homophobia, Lesbophobia
I feel like tagging this book as LGBTQ+ is a mistake. It's a fun read with death of the author in mind, but the historical intentions of Carmilla's character shouldn't be ignored.
