The Ever Queen by LJ Andrews

4.0

“I made a vow, in this very room, should anyone bring you harm, you wear them as a promise of what becomes of those who dare touch the Ever Queen. Peel back the gold, and you will have answers to what became of traitors.

This was fun and I read it in 2 days! I liked all of the characters, I liked Erik’s bone jewelry *smirky smirk* and I liked how everything wrapped up and I’m excited for the next book in the series! Erik and Livia’s story did have a conclusion with this book though!

Okay, now for the not-so-positive stuff.

I really enjoyed the first 50% of the book, I zoomed through it, but then it both dragged on and moved too fast at the same time? I feel like the wording was meant to sound noble or something but it just lacked, I dunno, a naturalness? It may just be that I don’t like the writing style, not sure.

This also wasn’t enemies to lovers. They may have argued in the beginning but they’d always liked each other since they were kids. This isn't a negative or anything, it's just marketed as enemies to lovers but they'd always liked each other - even when they were enemies (I also have pretty high standards for "enemies").

I normally like a long ending but this one dragged on and on. I didn’t hate this or anything, especially since I want to read the next one, I just hoped for a little more.

Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
