The Fire Next Time
by James Baldwin
It's an uncomfortable read for a white liberal, but I think that I learned a lot from it. I'm a little queasy about his discussion of his dinner and conversation with Elijah Muhammad, especially the bit about Muhammad's interactions with young women and how innocent those interactions seemed to be. His relationship with his father was certainly an interesting one.
