Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. We meet Ava, a scientist who left her career to help her grandma in the small town hardware store after fleeing her abusive bf. Werewolf Kade is drawn to the new person in town. There's smtg about her that makes him wanna get close but he has to protect his pack. A rival pack is moving in but things have been quiet and he feels Ava is the reason. Ava is attracted to the troubled soul and she shouldn't be. One night Ava ends up in the forest unbeknownst to her and she is saved by smtg with glowing eyes. She wakes up in a cave and finds Kade...what is going on. Kade tells her she is different and she must be careful. Of course she doesn't believe the nonsense but after a series of events her grandma confirms that she is different like her. Can Kade keep Ava safe from those who want to use her power?
