This is an atypical love story told in an unusual format that makes the book hard to put down.

Introverted creative-type Gabby Hart and charming jock Ryan McCullough relive their top 10 high school memories during Gabby's graduation party. Gabby and Ryan are the unlikeliest of best friends, and their relationship has certainly suffered its ups and downs they met during freshman year. The two often argue about Ryan's hockey-induced concussions and Gabby's refusal to step out of her comfort zone. Their unexplored mutual attraction gives this novel a powerful charge, and readers will race to finish the book to find out whether they end up together. Author Katie Cotugno tells this story from both Gabby and Ryan's perspectives and jumps around in time in order to reveal the characters' favorite moments. This format certainly adds to the suspense of the story, but it also made it a challenge for me to read as an audiobook; I often had to check to make sure I hadn't skipped a chapter because the story is not told chronologically.

This is a memorable book, but it's not my favorite of Katie Cotugno's. Still, I'll read anything she writes.
