You know that meme of Kermit the Frog with all the heart emojis? That's me all throughout reading this book. At first, it was hard to get through how much of an asshole Elias is, but I'm glad I stuck through it. He and Dora are so sweet and I love them together. Dora's half-soul is a great metaphor for living with ASD; I can kind of see that in Elias's character too—particularly in the way they don't care for social norms.
I've forgotten just how much I love HEA fairy tales, and this is a perfect mixture of historical fiction with fantasy. If you liked The Frog Princess series as a kid, you'll love this, because I certainly did!
