Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause

This book was ahead of its time in regards to the werewolf craze. It is a book about belonging and fitting into your world. Vivian isn't the most likable character, but she is a strong female in a male dominated world. She characterizes what many teens experience - the angst, insecurity, and desire for acceptance that occur no matter how beautiful one may look, or how confident one may act. I enjoyed the fact that your typical forbidden love doesn't triumph in the end in this book. I'm not sure how I feel about Vivian and Gabriel but I never bought the Adrian romance - I actual liked how that ended.
