Listen. This book had my heart racing and my blood pressure sky-high.
I don't believe I've ever read a zombie apocalypse book that took place in an elementary school.

Karly is a ninth grader who's been looking forward to Halloween. It's her favourite holiday and she finally gets to dress up as her favourite monster! Unfortunately, things take turn for the worst, and ending zombies in real life might be a bit more complicated than in a videogame.

I loved it. We get a good insight  into how the outbreak starts and from several points of view. As this outbreak happens in an elementary school, this book isn't for people who don't want anything bad to happen to children in fiction. Things get graphic, and as is on par for the genre, not everyone can make it. The main characters definitely felt like their age, in the way they reacted to the sitiation and in their decision making and problem solving.

Definitely recommend this to persons who are into  zombies 🧟‍♀️
