A very readable and gripping Southern thriller, but the whodunnit was way too obvious right from the start, so the ‘twist’ didn’t pay off for me.

Also, given the fact that countless innocent young black men have been shot in the US by police and citizens alike, with no repercussions, I find it hard to believe that people would be going after the main character for shooting dead two violent rapists in the middle of a crime scene.
