I received my copy of " Whispers of the Elderoak" as an ARC copy/ reader.
I am in love with the characters in this book~ my reasoning for my rating is as follows:
One star for the writing/ prose- in my opinion the wiring, prose, pacing and all of the fundamental elements of the writing was amazing.
One star for our FMC- she is amazing and I am looking forward to seeing how she grows and develops and how her story progresses as the series continues.
One star for well rounded side characters.
One star for magic- a good fantasy to me has a good magic system. I am looking forward to seeing the system explained and explored more.
One star for fae~ (biased I love fae)
And one star for the tropes included in this book.
Would I recommend this book to friends, family, and people in my bookish communities? Most definitely.
Even though it is the first of the series I feel like it has set the story of this series up really well. As mentioned earlier I do enjoy the characters and the emotions that I experienced while reading this work. I am looking forward to book two because I have questions I would like answered....and certain tensions I would like to see eased.
It's a good, great even, fantasy story with fae, magic, kingdoms, adorable animals and there's a bit of spice for the spicy enjoyers.
