Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu

5.0

Did I just read this brick in a week? Yes.
Do I regret it? Not one bit!!

I don’t think I’ve ever cared this much about a set of characters.. The only example that currently comes to mind is The Goldfinch. I guess 700+ pages books with troubled and flawed main characters just hit different?? One kiss on the cheek for both <3

I absolutely loved the setting here. The author managed to create a set up full of magical elements that keeps the reader hooked from the first few chapters. I also really enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters - it had the right amount of fluff and angst. This book was an enjoyable ride overall. I’m excited to read more from Mo Xiang Tong Xiu.

Would recommend to: anyone who loves stories where characters go on adventures and get to explore their fantastical world, slow burns with great payoffs, and the found family trope.

From now on I'm going to add content warnings at the end of every review I make on goodreads. If I can't find any online, I'll type a list of trigger warnings myself and you'll find it in the first comment of the review.
