This was very disappointing. I love the Wayward Children series, but this was boring and too drawn out.
Things I liked:
Chapter 12. Maybe Chapter 13.
Things I didn't like:
Everything else.
1. The magic system is confusing and not well thought out.
2. I didn't care about anyone.
3. The beginning was so drawn out and repetitive, it reads like a bad student creative writing class assignment. Nothing actually happens until halfway through the book.
4. This is also not a book. It is a short story that is forced into being longer by lots of repetition of the same few sentences and phrases.
5. There is no real plot. It is very sketchy and unformed. "A girl dies. Her sister dies. The sister is a ghost. But the ghosts of NYC are disappearing. The ghost finds the other ghosts. She rescues them. The end". Literally there is very little in between.
6. This is not even close to her best writing.
