Wow, what an amazing graphic novel. I read and finished it all in one day, which doesn't usually happen when reading. This book offered an insightful and emotional illustration of what it's like to be Asian American in LGBTQ+ spaces, which can oftentimes look very white (and cis). The graphic novel deals with conflicts of identity, racism, and an overarching feeling of alienation to look and be different from others in the communities that are supposed to have your back the most. I recommend those within the Asian American community to read it, but even those outside of it, especially if you lack awareness of the amount of racism that occurs within the community to this day. I teared up a few times while reading.
Graphic: Hate crime, Panic attacks/disorders, Racism, Sexual assault, Sexual content, Transphobia, Sexual harassment
Moderate: Dysphoria
Minor: Body shaming, Death
