Cows by Matthew Stokoe
2.0

I just finished "Cows" by Matthew Stokoe, and wow, I don't even know where to start. This book is something else. It's super dark and honestly, it's filled with stuff I wish I could unread. The story is about Steven, who's stuck in a really depressing life and then ends up working in a slaughterhouse. And let me tell you, it gets pretty graphic and intense from there.

The book doesn't hold back on anything. It's got a ton of violence and really disturbing scenes that made me put it down several times. There were moments when I was like, "Why am i reading this? Am i trying to prove to myself that I can do what other havent been able to?"

It's one of those books where you're not sure if you're supposed to enjoy it or just survive it.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool when books push the envelope and make you think, but "Cows" was just a bit too out there for my taste. I finished it because I don't like leaving books halfway, but it's not something I'd pick up again. If you're really into stories that are super dark and don't mind a lot of graphic content, then maybe you'd like it more than I did. But if you're squeamish or looking for something a bit more uplifting, this might not be the book for you.
