the book immerses you into the rich lifestyle & the drama, the secrets, and the judgmental stares that come along with it.
the twists were very unexpected but welcomed. it was just a lot to wrap my head around because so much happened in those 400 pages.
spoilers:
I kept an open mind about who could’ve killed William. I was half expecting Keisha to have wished him dead (I’m glad that wasn’t the real reason, though). I didn’t expect Eleanor because her reasonings weren’t selfish. she was just fulfilling a dying wish. it just seemed… anti-climatic?
also, Marcie’s sinister thoughts at the end were shocking but not out of character. throughout the book, her love for her husband is used to disguise her love for the lifestyle he provided.
in the end, it was a really fascinating read & very different from my usual romance books.
